Newsletter number two just went out!
Here is the Live section of said newsletter. I hope this hard learned mental health tip is helpful to you.
Time for some life stuff!
I was avoiding some conversations last month and it really took a toll on my creativity. If you’re experiencing a slump, I definitely suggest looking inward. Journaling helps me. Sit down and having a little talk with yourself. It was amazing how quickly my creative self returned, once I faced and dealt with the things I was avoiding.
I promised you mental health and self-care tips in this section and I’m going to deliver.
Meditation. I don’t consider myself someone who “meditates” but I do!
When I think of meditation, I think of a quiet room with candles or incense, soft music, pillows, floor mats, and sitting in quiet contemplation for hours on end. It’s taken me a while to realize meditation can be for five minutes in the middle of your workday at your desk.
I started meditation when I signed up for a program called Meru in 2022 when I was frantically looking for a therapist and not finding one. I ended up starting the program and finding a therapist.
Meru is a 12-week ONLINE program for mental health and burnout. Here is a short description from their website,
“Our 12-week program uses weekly themes to help participants approach mental health from various angles. This makes overcoming current challenges more manageable while also helping participants develop skills and habits to prevent relapses.”
